56. Lunch at Plymouth's Rooftop
Mary Grace is in the office today! Yay! So we decide to grab some lunch.
Plymouth's 327 S Plymouth Ct is one of the first places I discovered when I moved to Chicago. When the weather is nice they have an excellent covered rooftop with full bar and menu, but there's also a bar in the basement with excellent happy hours - free appetizers! And it's wicked close to the office.
I've never actually gone for lunch, but the rooftop is always crowded. I order one of their signature salads and a margarita. The view isn't the best - most of the rooftop overlooks a parking garage next door, although the Harold Washington Library is right there. And during the summer, they have a mist machine that constantly sprays which keeps you cool, but I thought the constant misting was a little extreme.

Pardon me for finding the glass half full. - Giles
55. Happy Hour at The Martini Bar
After work Fitz and I head to one of my favorite happy hour spots near the office, The Martini Bar 401 S LaSalle. My friend Meshawn discovered this place a couple months ago, it's tucked away - semi hidden - so it's never that busy or crowded despite the fact that they have some of the best happy hour deals I've ever seen.
Tuesdays - $2 domestic pints, Wednesdays - $5 glasses of wine, Thursdays - $7 Martinis
Typically, I try to go on Wednesdays for the wine, but when Fitz suggests it tonight I don't say no. The Martini Bar consists of two rooms with dark wood paneling, and what I can only assume is the original woodwork and old ceiling. It's warm and inviting. The front room is the bar, but back around the corner is another checkerboard floor room with high tables and low couches.
We have a couple glasses of wine and meet the new manager.

37. Lunch at The Plaza at Park Grill
I have eaten a lot. But I don't cook, not really. Sometimes I think about learning. To cook, I mean. But then I decide to make popcorn. Or eat some cheese. I like cheese.
It's Burger Fest this week at The Plaza at Park Grill 11 N Michigan and I manage to convince Mary Grace to accompany me for lunch. The Plaza is the largest al fresco dining location in the city. And during the summer they have live music Thursday nights. There's also indoor seating (The Park Grill) but I'm saving that for when the weather isn't gorgeous. You know. In January. Oh! Maybe we'll go for my birthday. Go Capricorns.
But back to the burgers. These were some excellent burgers. MG and I ordered two and split them because neither of us could decide. We shared the dry aged burger (w smoked aged gouda) and the grilled turkey burger (w guava bbq sauce). Burger Fest is through Sunday - get there quick!

Willow: She likes cheese.
Riley: Huh?
Willow: Well, I'm not saying it's the key to her heart or anything, but Buffy, she likes cheese.
