334 Days to go: 316 Things to Do: Day 26 in Chicago
50. CANstruction at Merchandise Mart
For a while now, I've been planning on checking out CANstruction, which is a sculpture competition that helps raise awareness of hunger in the United States and collects food donations. Tomorrow is the last day it's being exhibited here in Chicago so during lunch today, I go.
These giant sculptures are made by teams of architects, engineers, and volunteers and are made entirely from canned food items and then are displayed for the public. Here in Chicago it's held at the Merchandise Mart 222 Merchandise Mart People are encouraged to donate additional food when they visit the exhibit. Very, very cool. Here are some of my favorites.
333 Days to go: 315 Things to Do: 26 Days in Chicago = 28 new experiences
